A Story from Being Laid Off to Building a Few Extensions
A Story from Being Laid Off to Building a Few Extensions
A few months ago, I got laid off. Nothing special: company cut costs, I was on the list.
At first I was a bit lost, but then I thought: alright, let’s just do something.
Trying YouTube
I thought maybe I’d try YouTube. I know some dev stuff, so I made a few tutorial videos.
Ended up with 63 subscribers, 55 videos, and 6.7K total views 😂.
After a while I stopped. Didn’t really work out.
Building an extension for myself
While doing YouTube, I got annoyed by having to open so many tabs just to check channel analytics. So I wrote a small extension to pull all that into a sidebar. Called it InsightHub. It’s free.
It worked okay. Then I thought: maybe share it with others? Posted in a few small groups, and a handful of people downloaded it.
Then I built InsightExporter – export data to Markdown, CSV. This one has a fee. But there are discounts. If you can’t afford it or you’re a student, just hit me up and I’ll give you a discount code or a trial code :D
Other stuff that’s half-done
I’m also working on a few other things: SmartReplyAssistant, LiquidGlassPack, etc. Honestly, not finished yet. Some are just starting, some are still just sketches. I’ll announce them when they’re ready.
About the UI
For the UI, I’m going for a liquid glass look (kind of frosted, semi-transparent). If you see something that looks off or feels weird, please let me know. Thanks.
If you find this useful
- InsightHub: free, use it as much as you want.
- InsightExporter: paid (but with discounts – students or anyone tight on budget, just contact me for a discount or trial code :D)
- Other stuff: not sure yet if they’ll be free or paid.
If you find any of this helpful, feel free to:
- Leave a like / share this post
- Or just download the extension and try it out
Please leave a report if you encounter any bugs. I truly appreciate your contribution ❤️ and will try to fix it as quickly as possible.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for being here.
P.S. Design by CatalystPack, made in by CatalystPack Studio. 😄
